First Trust ISE-Revere Natural Gas ETF Posts Strong First Year Results
Revere Data marked the one-year anniversary of the top-performing First Trust ISE-Revere Natural Gas ETF (NYSE:FCG). FCG tracks exchange-listed companies that derive a majority of their revenues from the exploration and production of natural gas as defined by Revere's patented classification system and indexes.
Since it started trading May 11, 2007, FCG has returned investors more than 45%, ranking it among the top 20 US ETFs for that 52-week period. Thus far in 2008, FCG is one of the top 10 US ETFs by price performance, within a universe of 738 funds. This performance has clearly caught investors' attention, and FCG's assets under management have grown to more than $100 million.
Companies selected for FCG must derive a majority of their revenues from natural gas reserves or exploration in North America as well as meet such criteria as price performance, growth potential, and profitability.
